FACILITATION SKILLS FOR THEORY OF CHANGE
IN-PERSON TRAINING WORKSHOP
Are you a project manager or Principal Investigator (PI) of a complex research project? Would you like to create a Theory of Change but are unsure where to start? Our facilitation skills workshop delivered online over two half days will get you started. It provides a safe and supportive space to learn some tried and tested techniques to engage colleagues in a collaborative process and get the outputs you need.
ABOUT THE TRAINING
Developing a Theory of Change (ToC) should not be a solo endeavour and works best when it is developed collaboratively with the key internal and external stakeholders. One of the key benefits of ToC is the conversations that are enabled during development, however, managing the input from different parts of the organisation and partners demands confidence and sound facilitation skills. We will take participants through the different ways to approach developing a ToC, and explores some of the common challenges and how to deal with them by providing facilitation techniques to support the process.

What to expect
We will guide you through the process of developing a ToC, in the first instance with the trainers facilitating before a volunteer in your group takes over. There will be time to reflect on the process, what worked, what was challenging, and what changes you might make. Although in-person,
We use a scenario to apply the exercises to, however, if any attendees have a project, programme or portfolio of work in mind we invite you to bring it along. We will also incorporate opportunities to practise with both digital and analogue facilitation approaches.
