HOW TO REVIEW AND CLASSIFY AN IMPACT CASE STUDY
Thursday 4 June 13:30-16:30 BST

This online workshop is ideal for anyone involved in internal reviews of draft impact case studies - research impact managers, UoA leads or directors of impact or anyone providing REF submission support for the first time.
With a focus on building an understanding of the case study template and what’s required in each section, we'll take a detailed look at the formal requirements and restrictions, common mistakes, what best practice in impact evidence looks like and the variation in how impact is realised, presented and evidenced across different disciplines.
What we'll cover
-
the requirements of the impact case study template and the mistakes that might render a case study ineligible or unclassified
-
gold standard examples from 4* case studies to highlight what best practice looks like
-
how to give fair feedback and provide a reasoned potential ranking
What you'll gain
-
an improved understanding of reach and significance and how they are assessed
-
insight into the variety of impact evidence available and how it might be used to support different types of impact
-
understanding of how impact manifests across different disciplines so you can adjust your expectations accordingly when reviewing across UoAs
Ideal for
